The Naples Daily News is reporting that a record home sale for Collier County has taken place in Naples. Arthur Allen, Jr., founder of Naples-based software company Allen Systems Group, Inc., is the new owner for a record $40 million. The home, located at 2500 Gordon Drive in Port Royal, was sold by Miles Collier, heir of the county’s founder.
The home was never listed in the Multiple Listing Service since it was a private sale, but the paper is reporting that the property closed in May. The home sits on 4.8 acres of waterfront which makes up most of the value of the property. Allen was said to say “it’s very unique in Naples, Florida. It’s actually very unique anywhere.”
Allen’s record setting purchase tops the previous record of $24.8 million for another property in Port Royal paid by a Campbell Soup heiress for a home on 2 acres also on Gordon Drive.
