Baseball Art Show comes to Naples
“The Great American Game: Baseball” comes to Naples beginning Tuesday, Jan. 23rd. at the Naples Museum of Art. Baseball memorabilia and paintings will form the centerpiece of the exhibit. You can view Babe Ruth’s 1919 contract, Joe DiMaggio’s 1948 New York Yankee uniform, Lou Gehrig’s Yankee contract and the 1999 World Series trophy amongst many others. Several artists will display their baseball art including Robert Rauschenberg, George Luks, Raoul Duffy, George Bellows, Elaine de Kooning and Jacob Lawrence.
The exhibit will run through May 13 with a lecture on March 21st by Dale Petroskey, president of the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
This looks to be a fantastic exhibit of baseball history and anyone in the area should take advantage of the opportunity to visit the show and other displays at the Naples Museum of Art.
