Bring on the palm trees

There was good news posted on the News-Press website recently which spoke to the beautification project along U.S. 41 near Bonita Springs, just north of Naples, Florida.

Landscape and irrigation work should begin in about three months on a stretch of U.S. 41 from Corkscrew Road in Estero, south to the city limits of Bonita Springs, said Meg Judge, president and chief executive officer of the Estero Chamber of Commerce.
The landscaping of the median of U.S. 41 was approved Tuesday by the Lee County Board of Commissioners. It went to the low bidder, Hannula Landscaping Inc. for $1,492,831.85.
The project includes installation of plants, pump stations, irrigation systems, maintenance of traffic and landscape and irrigation maintenance for a one-year period.

This area is really taking shape and should be well positioned for the next real estate surge. Once these projects are completed, as well as the development planned along Old U.S. 41, it will be hard to recognize this area in five years.
