Fighting Against Florida Insurance Rates

We received our tip of the week from our good friend Ellen Benton over at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and since the topic was so timely I thought it was worthwhile to pass it on for all to consider.

TIP OF THE WEEK -    I attended a meeting last night for FAIR - Collier “Fighting Against Insurance Rates”.   It’s a grass roots organization started by local citizens  (many realtors) to try and fight back against the rising rates of insurance companies. The meeting  had a couple very interesting speakers…
One lady was the president of her condo association.  The condo had been insured for 10 years by a local insurance company and the rates were skyrocketing.   They started shopping the insurance all over the state of Florida and now have insurance with a company on the east coast - saving them about $100,000 year in premium.
Bill Molloy, owns a company called Wind Inspections. He works with homeowners and condo associations by providing inspections to insurance companies to help  REDUCE insurance premiums. He sounds to me like a little known secret that has the potential to save homeowners and especially condo associations a significant amount of money.  His phone is  732-5614 and his e-mail is windinspections@yahoo.com.
I’m passing all of the above info on to everybody I know because we want to do everything we can to keep insurance rates down for both existing and future Florida homeowners.
