Google phone search
Did you know that you can put a phone number into Google’s search bar and it will give you the person’s name and address? I don’t know when they started this but you can also hit MapQuest and you will get a map to the person’s house. Wow, this is basically a nationwide reverse telephone book!
If a child gives out his/her phone number to someone they can now look up where the child lives. Obviously this is a safety concern.
You can have your phone number removed or blocked. We’ve put all our phone numbers into the search and they showed up. I’ve since put a block on them and it was removed rather quickly.
Test our your own phone number. Go to www.google.com and put your phone number in the search box, example 555-555-5555, and see if you’re listed. If you want to block Google from divulging your private info, simply click on your phone number and the click on the Removal Form. The number should be removed within 48 hours.
