Well, it’s about time that the blog was updated…don’t you think? Duh! Well, Ruth and I have done a little traveling the past few months. We took some time off with the slow down of the market and took a well deserved vacation to Bermuda. Wow, what a beautiful and relaxing place to visit. My daughter’s wedding was another trip and Ruth is going to fly up to Virginia for a couple of days to see our niece’s soccer game and high school band perform. So, in addition to remodeling my mother’s two bathrooms, there has been alot going on the past few months but I just wanted to update you on some of happenings in Naples.
Delta Airlines used to fly a commuter fight out of the local Naples airport, but that was ended the first of October. No problem with the service, it was just that Delta upgraded their jets and it became impossible to meet the weight restrictions for the airport. We now have Vintage Props & Jets, based in New Smyrna Beach, offering service beginning December 14th. They have plans to fly to Tampa, Tallahassee and Marathon in the Florida Keys.

The Ritz Carlton Golf Resort, here in Naples, was ranked number 1 golf resort in Florida by Conde Nast magazine and was included in the top ten by TravelGolf.com.
In other golf news, the Hibiscus Golf Club, first opened in 1969, just completed a major face-life and is ready for the fall season. Hibiscus is located off of Rattlesnake-Hammock Road in East Naples and is one of the few courses open to the public. For more info call 239-774-0088.
For those of you dying for some decent ribs, Shane’s Rib Shack is now open in the Gulf Coast Town Center. Shane’s also has a closer Rib Shack located on Naples Blvd. off of Airport Rd. near Lowe’s and Costco.
Need a job? Well you missed the deadline, but 61 applicates applied for the vacant Naples city manager position. The applications are being reviewed and the Council is expected to make a decision on Oct. 23rd and have the new manager in place by the end of the year.
