Shop Until You Drop - Naples newest shopping attractions

New retail stores are popping up all over Naples. Even though the residential real estate market has slowed down this past year, the commercial side of the business is really expanding with two new megamalls at Coconut Point and Gulf Coast Town Center joining the Naples grandaddy Coastland Mall. These big companies do extensive demographic studies and it’s obvious that they plan for a huge population growth in the area in the coming years which is a strong positive outlook for residential real estate.
Coastland is going through a makeover that is due to be completed this summer, but some changes can already be seen. New restaurants and retail includes Kona Grill, Starbuck’s Express, Congress Jewelers, Champs Sports and Delia’s. Still to come this summer are Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Ted’s Montana Grill, Bombay and Forever 21.
The Promemade at Naples Center is another popular spot near Costco and the movie theaters off of Airport Rd. In this plaza you’ll find Loehmann’s, Joann’s Fabric and Crafts, Men’s Place and Petco, Fat Burger, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Panera Bread, Shane’s Rib House and Wild Oats. In the near future you’ll find the Coldstone Creamery, of course Starbuck’s and Dairy Queen.
Coconut Point is north on U.S. 41 and is quite a place. It’s like a small little village with many of the name brand stores, like Old Navy, Best Buys, etc, but also includes alot of smaller boutique type stores. Bring your walking shoes, but I understand a shuttle is planned to wisk you from store to store.
The Gulf Coast Town Center off of Alico Rd in Estero is also underway with The Bass Shop opening up which includes the Islamorada Fish company Restaurant and its 17,000 gallon salt water aquarium behind the bar. We plan on checking this place out soon and will report back later.
Happy shopping.
