Forbes Magazine recently ranked Naples-Marco Island area as one of America’s 10 fastest growing small metropolitan areas. They said that the influx of wealthy new residents has helped stabilize the local economy. Personal income for area residents is expected to grow by 7.2% on average until 2012, the highest in the nation.

The final 5.2 mile stretch of Imperial Parkway in Bonita Springs recently opened for traffic. You can now go from Radio Road in Naples all the way to Alico Road in Lee County. This opens up a third north-south route and another easy way to get to the airport without getting bogged down on I-75.

Collier County Sheriff Lt. Scott Green, who is serving in Afghanistan, inspired the new program “Calling Home”. It helps the soldiers overseas to call home without a huge financial obligation. To help a soldier call home, donate an internatiional calling card by mailing it to Collier County Sheriff’s Office, Public Affairs Bureau, 3301 Tamiami Trail East, Building J, Naples, Florida 34112, Attention: CCSO’s Calling Home Program.

Seven SW Florida golf course communities are listed in Travel & Leisure Golf magazines latest issue of “Top 100 Golf Course Communities”. They include Bonita Bay Club, Bay Colony, Fiddler’s Creek, Grey Oaks, Mediterra, Tuscany Reserve and Twin Eagles.
