It’s turtle season and we all need to take some precautions. The season runs between May 1st and October 31st for the loggerhead turtles we have here. The experts in this field say that only one in every 1,000 sea turtle hatchlings will survive to full adulthood. Some precautions we can all help with are shutting off or shielding lights from the beach, close your drapes after dark, don’t take your flashlight on the beach, be quiet when observing nesting female turtles and please stay at a distance because they are easily frightened away. Thanks for your help.
