Rick skydives on his 60th birthday!

Skydiving is something I’ve been thinking about for a long time and finally got up the nerve to give it a try. Ruth treated me for my 60th birthday and we went up to Titusville, Florida over the weekend and she set up a wonderful day for me to skydive. It was a tandem jump and we left the plane at 18,000 feet and did a freefall for one minute and ten seconds before opening the parachute well above the clounds. After safely arriving back on earth, Ruth greeted me with champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and a birthday cake for myself and the crew. It was an awesome day that I will never forget. We bypassed several dropzones in South Florida to go to Skydive Space Center in Titusville mainly because the people were so terrific and the view from above the clouds of the Kennedy Space Flight Center was literally out of this world. I really want to thank Dean, my tandem partner and Sergio my videographer. Great, great bunch of guys. Truly professional. Check out my video on YouTube.com or watch below. Don’t laugh…I’m wringing my hands during the pre-flight interview like a hyperactive praying mantis! My palms were sweating like crazy, give me a break! :-) Enjoy the show.
