Tourist tax collections hit record

Collier County collects taxes paid by visitors staying at local hotels and renting short-term in area condos, etc. The collections set a new record for the fifth time this past August. The number of visitors rose 8.4%. Good weather and no hurricanes was a big help to the tourist industry.

The numbers reported in the Naples Daily News showed that Collier County had 84,000 visitors in August. Nearly 50 percent Floridians, 14% from Europe and approximately 8,600 from the northeastern U.S.

People obviously still love Naples! More and more of these visitors will eventually buy a second home or make Naples their permanent residence. Of course it would be great if they could contact our real estate team, led by Ruth Bethem at 877-777-7545. Others may wish to visit our Naples Real Estate website for more information.
